DEMOCRATIC EVENTS
1. UPDATED – Skagit Democrats Spring Fling Event changed
Our Outreach Committee has reviewed your responses to the Spring Fling survey and as a result will change the date to a summer/fall celebration. This will allow for an outdoor event. We will also be able to expand the event to include family, and organizations supportive of Skagit County Democrats who were integral to our 2022 success. More information will follow as planning progresses. Please be sure to share your thoughts about what you would like our event to look like. Send your responses to Charles Ivory at cmivory69@gmail.com. As always, thank you for your support.
2. The Skagit County Democrats Reorganization Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Jan 7, 2023 at 10:00am, Skagit PUD Building, 1415 Freeway Drive, Mount Vernon

Please note, only elected Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) are eligible to vote for the new Executive Board. All members may run if they choose, and they may provide comments. At the end of the meeting, we will all vote on a Resolution presented by our two Current State Committee Representatives. For the Resolution vote only, all members in good standing, PCOs and the Executive Board members are eligible to vote on the Resolution. Nominations will be taken from the floor. If no other person runs against a candidate, then that candidate automatically wins by acclamation. Rules for the Reorganization Meeting may be found in our By-Laws (Click Here) under Article 11.

6. Skagit County Democrats is again requesting anyone visiting our Headquarters to "mask up"
Skagit County is experiencing a resurgence in viral respiratory illnesses, including respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and COVID-19. As a result, our local emergency departments, urgent care clinics, and walk-in clinics are severely strained, and many have reached full capacity. Dr. Leibrand, Skagit County Health Officer, stated: "I recommend that everyone wear a high-quality, well-fitting mask when around others in indoor spaces to protect yourself and others". Click Here for more information. Our Headquarters Office has masks in stock and available for visitors.
7. Editor's Note
I am exercising a point of privilege to recommend that, in this season of giving, a worthy recipient of largesse is our Skagit County Democrats Headquarters Rent Fund. A lot of work in support of the Skagit County Democrats happens in our office. We can also expect this to only increase over the next two years as we move to the 2024 election season. Every little bit helps, folks!
