Skagit County Convention will update platform and LD Caucuses for the 10th, 39th, and 40th LD Skagit Precincts will select Presidential Delegates.
In Skagit County, the 10th, 39th, and 40th LD Skagit precincts will meet at the Skagit County Democrats’ County Convention, May 3, to elect delegates for each presidential candidate that received 15% or more of the votes. People attending the 3 different LD Caucuses will sort out not only by their presidential preference but also by what Congressional District they are in.
People who prefer Biden that live in the 40th will either go to the Biden 40th Caucus Congressional District 1 or Biden 40th Caucus Congressional District 2 or people who prefer Sanders that live in the 39th will either go to the Sanders 39th Caucus Congressional District 1 or Sanders 39th Caucus Congressional District 2.
10th, 39th, and 40th precincts that are NOT in Skagit County will meet in their respective Democrat County Conventions. For example: San Juan County 40th precincts will meet at the San Juan County Convention, Whatcom County 40th precincts will meet at the Whatcom County Convention, Snohomish County 39th precincts will meet at the Snohomish County Convention, Island County 10th precincts will meet at the Island County Convention.
The delegates that are elected at their Legislative Districts Caucuses will be delegates to their respective Congressional District Caucuses, May 30, and to the Washington State Democrats’ Convention, June 12-14, Tacoma.
Most Presidential Delegates will be elected at the Congressional District Caucuses for the National Democrat Convention, July 13-16 at Milwaukee, WI.
There will also be another opportunity to be elected as a presidential delegate to the National Democrat Convention, July 13-16, at the Washington State Democrats’ Convention, June 12-14. The state party committee will meet at the state convention on Sunday, June 14, to vote on the 19 pledged at-large and 12 PLEO (Party Leaders and Elected Officials).
The 107 pledged delegates Washington sends to the national convention will be joined by 18 unpledged PLEO delegates (8 members of the Democratic National Committee; 9 members of Congress, including both Senators and 7 U.S. Representatives; and Governor Jay Inslee)
