You must Pre-register if you are interested in running as a delegate for your Legislative District on or before April 24. To pre-register, go to  https://www.waelectioncenter.com/

Where do I register to run for national delegate?

Register​​ here​​ (https://wademscaucus2020.azurewebsites.net/)   no later than ​April 24​th if you wish to run for delegate to the State Convention.

Submit this ​​letter of intent (https://www.wa-democrats.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Letter-of-Intent-to-Run-for-National-Delegate-1.pdf) ​ by mail to the State Party Office between ​March 23​rd​ and ​May 4​th​ if you wish to run for delegate to the National Convention. This form can be found on page 107 of the Washington State Democratic Central Committee’s​​ Delegate Selection and Affirmative Action Plan​ on our website (https://www.wa-democrats.org/2020dsaap/).

You must also indicate a presidential preference or an intent to run as an uncommitted delegate.

District Delegates (58)

Make sure you are a registered Democrat

Determine the congressional district where you are registered

Start organizing your friends and supporters to vote for you.

(This may change and there may be filing dates for forms that you have to complete and file to become a delegate)

At the April 26, 2020 Legislative District Caucuses delegates to the Congressional District caucuses and State Convention are elected.
Show up with your supporters. All Democratic voters are eligible to attend the caucus in their Legislative District.

At the May 3, 2020 County Conventions delegates to the Congressional District caucuses and State Convention are elected. Show up with
your supporters. All Democratic voters are eligible to attend the caucus in their County.

At the May 30, 2020 Congressional District Caucuses the District Delegates are elected.

At Large Delegates (19)

If you did not get elected as a District delegate, you can try to become an At Large Delegate or an Alternate delegate.

At-Large and Alternate delegates are elected at the June 14, 2020 State Convention by the State Party Committee.

PLEO Delegates (12)

You must be eligible to be a PLEO delegate. PLEOs are eligible according to the following priority: big city mayors and state-wide elected officials (to be given equal consideration); state legislative leaders, state legislators, and other state, county and local elected officials and party leaders.

PLEO delegates are elected at the June 14, 2020 State Convention by the State Party Committee.

Standing Committee and Delegation Chair

Standing Committee members (each on the Credentials, Platform and Rules committees) and the Delegation Chair are elected at the State Convention on June 14, 2020. You don’t have to be a delegate or alternate to be elected.
